Sex Tech: Reddit vs. Romney, Sex Addiction, Spankable Robot, Tumblr Sued

Summary: Tumblr sued by Perfect 10, Reddit vs. Mitt Romney, Japanese robot butt for spanking, no science for sex addiction.
No science to justify sex or internet addiction, Japanese robotics make a spankable robot butt, Reddit mulls pulling a “swift boner” on Mitt Romney to protect the internet’s porn from him, and much more…

Reddit wants to “Swift Boner” Mitt Romney over porn pledge
Earlier this year, Mitt Romney promised Morality in Media, the “leading national organization opposing pornography,” that he would go after porn for them.
On Reddit commenters are discussing a plan to “swift-boner” Mitt Romney with ads on porn sites advocating that masturbators do not vote for Romney.
Led by porn panic, UK filters citizen’s internet by default
The UK has lost its collective mind and is now prepping to filter internet content to consumers by default – based on a moral panic about porn.
The religious campaigners and conservative tabloid Daily Mail led the charge to put the UK in its current censored state.
The entities have claimed a victory in their effort to force broadband providers to block pornography websites by default “to protect children” after David Cameron pledged to consult on the issue.
Robotic buttocks “Shiri” respond to touch
Roboticist Nobuhiro Takahashi and his team at the Tokyo University of Electro-Communications describe their newest creation “Shiri” as “a buttocks humanoid robot that expresses various emotions with organic movement of the artificial muscles.”
Yes, it’s a spankable robot butt.
The name is derived from the Japanese word for “buttocks” yet it’s impossible not to have the name conjure up Apple’s female personal iPhone assistant, Siri.
What you do with that association is up to you.
No such thing as “sex addiction” “porn addiction” or “Internet addiction”
When legislators (or media, for that matter) try to push agendas for filtering or controlling the internet based on claims of “sex addiction” “porn addiction” or “Internet addiction” - their claims no longer have a valid basis in fact.
The new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM, known as the scientific “rule book” of psychiatric illness and disorders) has been released.
Despite substantial pressure both within and outside psychiatry, the DSM workgroups rejected proposals to recognize addictions to sex, food, the Internet, and caffeine as diagnosable disorders.
The workgroups found no scientific justification for the invention of such disorders.
“We looked at sex addiction, but there was no science at all. None.”
In New York: Viewing child porn not a criminal act
Be VERY CAREFUL reading current headlines misstating that New York has made child porn legal.
This is not true.
The court ruled [in a child porn case] that while possession of (and creation of, etc.) illegal images was a crime, simply looking at illegal images online is *not* a crime.
Big, BIG difference. Also, this is only in New York state, and not on a Federal level.
Facebook’s (horrifying) child porn pages
It’s hard not to be affected by an article titled “Kids Raped, Sodomized on Facebook Pages,” the first of a four-part WND series about child porn and Facebook.
Larry Magid at CNET comments,
While it’s good that WND is bringing attention to the general problem of online child pornography, it’s unfortunate that it is focusing only on Facebook.
Tumblr sued by Perfect 10 over image sharing
Perfect 10 has filed a lawsuit against Tumblr for copyright violations.
For those of you that have found Perfect 10’s porn to be boring (it is), the way you may have heard about Perfect 10 is from their notorious lawsuit against Google Image Search, where Perfect 10 argued that Google violated copyright law by indexing 10’s images on “unauthorized websites.”
Perfect 10’s claims were shot down by the Court.
In a complaint filed in New York, Perfect 10 alleges that Tumblr failed to respond to repeated requests for takedowns and that “Tumblr employees have posted infringing content to Tumblr’s servers to help start the business.”
