Appreciate helps you discover apps in the Google Play Store

Summary: With nearly half a million apps in the Google Play Store, finding new apps to install can be a daunting task. Thankfully, Appreciate Personal App Market helps apply smart filtering to the Store.

Now that there are more than 450,000 apps in the Google Play Store it can be a daunting task to discover new apps to use. I was sent some information on a new application from Triapodi, Ltd. that you can install on your Android device to help with this discovery. Appreciate Personal App Market is both an app and a service that provides you with a personal view of the Play Store.
Hundreds of thousands of people have already downloaded Appreciate, but I personally was unaware of it until yesterday. Similar to what Nokia advertised for the Ovi Store, they never delivered on this promise, Appreciate lets you see what others in your connected community recommend so you get a filtered view of the Play Store from someone you trust and someone who has common interests. This is a unique way to find apps and much more efficient than scrolling through hundreds of screens on your device or computer screen.
You can provide recommendations, including sharing out to Facebook, for apps you think others should try out and even just choose to Like it so that someone else sees this when they use Appreciate. Tapping on an app title also opens up options for the app so you can see if it fits in your personal taste, send it to someone via a supported service, uninstall the app, hide it from your view, or launch it.
There are default screens for the following:
  • Local apps
  • New apps
  • Apps for male or female customers
  • Apps for kids
  • Tablet apps
  • Trending apps
  • Top apps
The service looks quite useful and I plan to keep it on my Android devices and see how it works over a period of time. You can also add a widget for daily app recommendations to your home screen.
