Membuka atau membacanya dengan soft adober reader ato semacamnya
3. DJvu
Untuk membaca format djvu diperlukan djvu reader/viewer. Untuk Windows dan MAc djvu reader yang gayanya mirip dengan Adobe/Acrobat Reader adalah WinDjView dan MacDjView. Selain itu ukuran file reader ini juga kecil. WinDjView dan MacDjView dapat di-download dari http://windjview.sourceforge.net

WinDjview dapat digunakan tanpa perlu instalasi. Atau jika ingin ter-instal dalam Windows:
1. copy file 'WinDjView-X.X.exe' (hasil download) ke folder Program Files anda
2. jalankan 'WinDjView-X.X.exe' yang ada di folder Program Files (klik ganda)
3. klik File > Settings
4. Pada dialog yang muncul, klik tab 'File Associations'
5. Klik tombol [Associate]
6. Dengan windows explorer, klik dua kali file djvu, akan langsung membukan windjview.



Untuk Linux, hampir semua distro menyediakan djvulibre (open source implementation dari djvu) pada CD/DVD instalasinya, hanya biasanya tidak secara default terinstall. Gunakan aplikasi instalasi dari sesuai dengan distro anda untuk menginstallnya. Jika tidak tersedia download pada http://djvu.sourceforge.net/.

Setelah diinstall dari command-line ketikan: djview. Anda dapat mengasoisasikan djview ini pada file browser seperti Konqueror (KDE) atau Nautilus (GNOME), sehingga anda cukup klik ganda atau klik sekali saja (tergantung bagaimana anda mengeset GUI Linux) pada file yang berformat djvu untuk membukannya.

Atau gunakan Djview 4 dengan interface seperti adobe/acrobat reader dan pengemabangan dari Djview, di download secara terpisah dari DjvuLibre. DjvuLibre saat ini telah ada 'versi' Windows.

Reader djvu lain adalah dari Lizardtech (http://www.lizardtech.com/) pemilik hak cipta format djvu. Sayangnya reader ini hanya merupakan plug-in pada web brower (seperti ie dan firefox). Informasi berbagai reader lainnya dan tentang format djvu sendiri lihat di hattp://www.djvu.org.

Slow Cooker Fall Favorites

I just got back from a pumpkin patch field trip with sixty kindergarteners. In the rain. I wish I could say that I planned ahead and plugged something in so I could happily (and maybe a bit smugly?) report that, "we came home to a hearty bowl full of wholesome goodness that warmed us right up."

oh how I wish I could say that.

But I can't. We came home instead to soggy tuna and rice cakes.

But you? You can totally plan ahead. These are fantastic fall slow cooker recipes that will keep your tummies full, your house warm and cozy, your family happy, and your budget in check.

Beverages

Holiday (non-alcoholic) Punch (although "Holiday" is in the title, I've been making this a lot. Wednesdays can totally be the new Holiday.)
Pumpkin Spice Latte (yummers)
Chai Tea Latte (I don't actually like this so much, but my mother-in-law loves it, and so do her friends.)

Appetizers

Brie with Balsamic Apricot Topping (just made this again on Saturday, and have been requested to make it on Thursday for my friend Jennifer's jewelry party. Oh! anyone want to buy jewelry? I think there might be an online form.)
Sundried Tomato Dip (one of the very first things I made during my challenge)

5 Layer Brownies (use a small slow cooker for this, or your middle won't set)
Pound Cake (I can't believe I ate the whole thing)
Rice Krispies Treats (the kids can do this alone. while I nap. It's a good thing.)
Caramel Apples (great surprise as an after school snack)
Brownie-in-a-Mug (So. Much. Fun.)

CrockPot Turtle Pudding (gluten free) Recipe

 

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

and happy end of Crocktober!

Since today is the most sugar-infested day of the year, what do I have for you? 

MORE SUGAR!

but this is high-class sugar. It's turtle pudding. In your crockpot.

it's okay with me to eat it with a spoon, hot, right out of the crock. I won't tell anyone.

The Ingredients.

serves 8

1 (16-ounce) box brownie mix (I used the Betty Crocker Gluten Free mix)

1 large egg

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 cup water (room temp, or slightly warm)

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

20 wrapped soft caramels (unwrapped)

whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

The Directions.

Use a 4 or 6 quart slow cooker with an inserted oven safe dish. I used a round 4-quart cooker with a 2-quart inserted Corningware casserole dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, oil, and water. When batter has formed, stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Pour batter into your casserole dish. I didn't spray the inside of the dish with cooking spray, but you can if you'd like (it would probably be easier to clean up!). Unwrap all of the caramel candies and press them into your brownie batter. 

Add 1/2 to 1 cup of water into the bottom of your slow cooker, then lower in the brownie dish. Be careful not to slosh water into your turtle pudding!

Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours, or until the edges have pulled away from the sides and the center has set.

Unplug your cooker, and let the dish set in it for 1 hour with the lid off before removing. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

The Verdict.

ooey gooey caramel chocolatey goodness. Delicious. Wonderful. So good you don't really want to share with your family.

which is selfish.

so you share. 

but you're secretly hoping the ice cream truck drives by and the kids get sidetracked so you can eat it all yourself because you're still upset by the Project Runway finale.
